What we collect. Your mobile phone number, your consent to receive texts (with its date), and the content of messages exchanged with the firm.
How we use it. Only to communicate with you about the matter the firm is handling and to keep a record of that communication in your file, consistent with our professional duty of confidentiality.
No sharing for marketing. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent information will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Service providers. We use a telephone service provider (currently Dialpad) and practice-management software to send and store messages. They process this information only to provide those services to the firm.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or the rules of professional conduct.
Retention. Messages are kept as part of the client file under the firm's file-retention policy.
